Sono state annunciate le nomination della 78esima edizione degli Emmy Awards. La serie drammatica sul pronto soccorso di un ospedale The Pitt guida la corsa con 25 candidature, seguita da Hacks (24) e alla rivelazione Apple TV Widow's Bay (19).

Tra le commedie si conferma protagonista Hacks, con nuove candidature per Jean Smart e Hannah Einbinder, mentre la vera rivelazione è Widow's Bay, che ottiene 19 nomination, comprese quelle per Matthew Rhys.

Nella categoria Miglior serie drammatica concorrono, oltre a The Pitt, anche The Diplomat, Slow Horses, The Gilded Age e A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms. Tra le commedie, Hacks sfiderà The Bear, Abbott Elementary, Only Murders in the Building, Shrinking e Widow's Bay.

Tra le curiosità spicca la candidatura postuma di Rob Reiner come guest star in The Bear, mentre resta escluso Jeremy Allen White, protagonista della serie. Gli Emmy 2026 saranno assegnati il 14 settembre al Peacock Theater di Los Angeles, nel corso di una cerimonia trasmessa dalla NBC.
