Tre emarginati - il timidone Elliot, il pigrissimo Sedgewick e George che non ha nessuna stima di sé - sognano un giorno di creare uno spettacolo sui pirati. Con i problemi relativi allo spettacolo da risolvere i tre si trovano proiettati nel 17° secolo dove devono salvare una famiglia reale da un tiranno malvagio e dove imparano ad essere dei veri pirati.

You don’t have to go far into the press material for “The Pirates Who Don’t Do Anything: A VeggieTales Movie” before you hit the phrase “faith-and-values-based property.” It is used to describe this and earlier offerings from the VeggieTales franchise, but the “faith” component of this rather ordinary film for children doesn’t make itself readily apparent.
Strange thoughts can occur when watching a movie populated entirely by vegetables. For instance, do Veggie Pirates get scurvy or beriberi? If there was a VeggieTales version of "The Silence of the Lambs" -- which, arguably, is pretty unlikely -- would Hannibal Lecter be a vegetarian or would the fava beans simply become the main dish with a side of kidney?
