Durante la guerra del Vietnam un gruppo di soldati americani viene mandato a uccidere soldati Viet Cong in un combattimento corpo a corpo nell'intricata rete di gallerie sotterranee nella giungla del Vietnam.
Un ottimo film che tratta la guerra del vietnam in modo quasi claustrofobico. Non il solito film che esalta la superiorità degli americani, qui non ci sono vinti e non ci sono perdenti.
Imagine if the movie-within-the-movie in "Tropic Thunder" -- the leaden action-melodrama stuffed with clichés about Vietnam -- had stayed on track, and you would end up with something not dissimilar to "1968: Tunnel Rats."
