Walter è un uomo solo di 71 anni, un uomo senza amici. Vive in un piccolo appartamento dell'Upper West Side di Manhattan e conduce una vita monotona. Un giorno il suo telefono suona. Qualcuno che ha sbagliato numero cerca una camera in subaffitto. Questo evento gli darà un'idea che sconvolgerà la sua esistenza.
Bad as it is, nothing in “The Sublet” warrants derision — nor, to be frank, your time. The movie doesn’t take up much of it, though at a mere 78 minutes it still feels attenuated, like a passable student film aggrandized to feature length. One watches it with a mix of annoyance, indifference and, given the humility of the material, a kind of patronizing sympathy.
