Dopo la misteriosa morte di sua zia, Bryan Becket, uomo dal forte scetticismo, rifiuta di credere che la casa in cui abitava la sua defunta parente possa essere stregata. Ne è così sicuro che vi si trasferisce subito. Presto però accadono fatti inquietanti e inspiegabili. Brayan Becket, mettendo in dubbio la sua sanità mentale troverà l'aiuto di un'altra personalità con la quale condividere lo stesso scetticismo. Quella di un giovane fisico. I due decidono di vederci chiaro e di scoprire la vera entità di quegli strani fenomeni.
UNA SUGGESTIVA COLONNA SONORA ACCOMPAGNA LE SEQUENZE DI QUESTO FILM CHE NARRA LA VICENDA DI UNA STORIA DRAMMATICA CHE SI SVELERA' LENTAMENTE NEL SUSSEGUIRSI DELLE SCENE.. PIU' CHE UN FILM HORROR DI DRAMMA SI TRATTA.. E DEL RAPPORTO DELL'UOMO CON LA PAURA DEL PASSATO DOLOROSO E RIMOSSO.. Storia complicata, cast scadente, suspance quasi inesistente, montaggio e regia da principianti, beh! penso può bastare. Saluti.
The Skeptic" spends most of its running time detailing the ways that lead character, lawyer Bryan (Tim Daly), has committed his life to doubt. Writer-director Tennyson Bardwell harps on it so much and so obviously, it's a wonder he didn't just name the character Thomas and get it over with. Old-fashioned in the worst sense, Bardwell's ghost story is heavy on Freud, light on fear.
“The Skeptic,” written and directed by Tennyson Bardwell, wants to be a haunted house movie for grownups, if such an oxymoron is possible. That means that there are no thrill-seeking teenage daredevils whose curiosity incites a bloodbath at the hands of undead spirits.
