Fiume o morte!

The «cringe version of the Italian language» is the dialect of the city of Fiume/Rijeka since long before the occupation by D''Annunzio legionaries. Actually it is an Istrian-Venetian dialect called fijumanski which was spoken by a great part of the population at the time of the occupation. Curious to note that in at least one of the other film you mentioned some characters speak a «a cringe version of the Italian language» called romanesco. «Fiume o morte!» is also a homage to the extraordinary variety of the Italian language.
