Fiume o morte!

Only in Rotterdam this film could be awarded, but I know that ignorance in Italian History is a distinctive trait of the Netherlands. This film is recited by Croatians in such a cringe version of the Italian language that the words are mixed and incomprehensible even to little kids, but, with the correct English translation it seems legit to a very naive public. The tragedy of the Fiume experience (ended by the Italian Government bombarding the city) is rendered as a surreal comedy. It is deplorable that the film structure is considered historically accurate when in fact it is a grotesque but not funny jumble of no relevance to any historical comprehension of the period. For a comedy it is what it is: mediocre. The director could have studied some real comedy like "La marcia su Roma" or "il Federale". This travesty of the "Historical accuracy" is something that everybody involved should be ashamed of. Spare your money and have a taste of it on Youtube.
