Can a young black opera prodigy from New York overcome his demons as he pursues his dream of opera glory and a better life? Trill” is a film, inspired by “Moonlight” & Mozart, “Pose” & Puccini & all the great operatic tragedies. We journey with our protagonist Gio, through the light and dark worlds of opera & society, of love & loss, of triumph & tragedy, of angels & demons. Gio was born with a gift from the Gods. He's a tenor with a voice beyond the likes of which anyone has ever known. Shielded and repressed by a mentally-ill mother, and living in the slums of NYC, Gio faces vicious inner and outer demons as he grapples with the choice of breaking free of his pain and prisons or living a life of quiet, devastation.
