Henri Desfontaines.
Nel 1927 il romanziere Arthur Bernède scrive per Henri Desfontaines un rocambolesco intrigo poliziesco che, per la prima volta al cinema, si svolge nel museo del Louvre. Una notte, nella sala degli Dèi barbari, Belphégor è sorpreso dal custode del museo; la notte seguente viene ucciso il capo delle guardie; infine un giornalista cade vittima di un agguato. Chi è il fantasma assassino? Il giornalista Bellegarde, l’ispettore Ménardier e il celebre detective Chantecoq indagano.
In 1927, the novelist Arthur Bernède wrote an extraordinary detective mystery for Henri Desfontaines, which for the first time in cinema, was set in the Louvre Museum. One night, in the room of the Barbarian Gods, the museum guard happens upon Belphégor; the following night, the chief guard is killed; then a journalist is attacked. Who is the phantom killer? The journalist Bellegarde, Inspector Ménardier and the famous detective Chantecoq conduct the inquiry.
