Nei dieci anni dall'uccisione della sua fidanzata, l'agente speciale MacGruber ha giurato per la vita di combattere il crimine con le sue sole mani. Ma quando scopre che il suo paese ha bisogno di lui per trovare una testata nucleare che è stata rubata dal suo acerrimo nemico Dieter Von Cunth, MacGruber scopre di essere l'unico duro abbastanza per il lavoro. Dopo aver assemblato un team di esperti: il tenente Dixon Piper e Vichi St. Elmo, MacGruber navigherà tra un'armata di assassini per cacciare Cunth e portarlo alla giustizia. I suoi metodi possono sembrare non ortodossi, le sue scene del crimine potrebbero diventare disordinate, ma se si vuole salvare bene il mondo, si chiama MacGruber. |

Whipping up a movie based on a "Saturday Night Live" sketch isn't inherently a bad idea; it just seems that way based on a track record that's, well, sketchy. There's "Wayne's World," and then there's a lot of "A Night at the Roxburys." What probably appealed to the makers of "MacGruber" — co-writer/star Will Forte, and his writing collaborators John Solomon and Jorma Taccone, who also directed — was the idea that their mullet-sporting, special ops goofball almost cried out for the multiplex-sized mayhem treatment. » |

How the hell can you take an SNL skit that runs 90 seconds and stretch it to a 90-minute feature? Sounds excruciating. But MacGruber breaks the jinx by putting the skit in the context of a 1980s action movie and creating its own brand of explosive lunacy. Will Forte, who created the role of the flannel-wearing, mullet-haired soldier of fortune unjustly celebrated for defusing bombs with such products as dog shit, semen and anal lubricant, is back as MacGruber. On SNL, MacGruber dies in an explosion at the end of every segment, letting his racism, homophobia and staggering incompetence get the best of him at every turn. » |
