Bliss Cavendar, 17 anni, vive in una cittadina texana con la sorellina Shania e i genitori Brooke ed Earl. Bliss, una volta terminate le lezioni, guadagna qualcosa lavorando in un ristorantino. Sua madre poi la obbliga a partecipare a concorsi di bellezza ed eleganza nei quali lei stessa ebbe successo in passato. Bliss, che li sopporta solo per farle piacere, un giorno va ad assistere con l’amica e collega Pash a una gara di Roller Derby e ne resta infatuata. Falsifica l’età ed entra a far parte della squadra riuscendo in breve tempo a conquistarsi il ruolo di jammer con lo pseudonimo di Bimba Spietata. Tutto scorre liscio fino a quando riesce a tenere nascosta questa sua passione ai genitori. Dovrà scegliere se partecipare a un concorso di quelli che piacciono a sua madre o giocare in uno scontro decisivo. |
