Infatti, in occasione dell'uscita al cinema del rockumentary della Walt Disney Pictures diretto da Bruce Hendricks 3d Concert Experience, arriverà nei negozi di dischi - con tre giorni di anticipo rispetto al resto del mondo - "Lines, Vines And Trying Times" il nuovo album della teen band più amata del momento. Un paio di pillole che renderanno più dolce l'attesa del tour europeo che avrà inizio a Milano, al Mediolanum Forum, il prossimo 3 novembre.

“Jonas Brothers: The 3D Concert Experience” isn’t a movie so much as a devotional object, a kind of secular fetish designed to induce rapture. Submitting to the experience requires initiation into the teenybopper cult of the Jonas brothers trinity — Joe, Kevin and Nick — purveyors of innocuous, repetitive guitar pop and the kind of bland sexuality that provokes a certain type of teenage girl to wait 72 hours in the rain in Times Square for a chance to glimpse the godhead. Directed with slick banality by Bruce Hendricks, “Jonas Brothers” consists of concert footage from a 2008 Madison Square Garden spectacular supplemented by ridiculous behind-the-scenes tidbits: the brothers pull up to a Virgin Megastore for the midnight release of their new album, fend off a throng of screaming fans, purchase three copies, then pile back into the limo and drive away. »

Younger audiences, perhaps accustomed to the adopted personas of online realities, seem less bothered by questions of authenticity than previous generations. So it should be no surprise that the opening of " Jonas Brothers: The 3D Concert Experience," ostensibly a concert documentary, features a sequence of the band being chased by fans that seems "real" only in the same sense as an episode of " The Hills." Directed by Bruce Hendricks, who also fashioned the recent Miley Cyrus 3-D concert movie, the film is awkwardly stitched together from candy-gloss arena concert footage and somewhat grimier-looking backstage/limo/hotel-room moments. »
