Sleep Dealer

Niente male! Il budget non deve essere stato alto, ma credo sia stato speso bene. Attori con le facce giuste, effetti speciali credibili, idee originali, buona la base musicale. A volte il ritmo rallenta troppo, ma è facile stare al gioco. Manca qualche passaggio nella trama e il finale è scontato, ma nel complesso un film godibile. A trovarne di B-movie così, magari!

THE current crop of American films dealing with immigration is as varied as the immigrant experience itself: an ensemble melodrama about illegal aliens in Los Angeles (the recent “Crossing Over”), a quiet story of a Dominican baseball player in the minor leagues in Iowa (next month’s “Sugar”). But there are a pair that could be considered movies without borders.

Adventurous, ambitious and ingeniously futuristic, "Sleep Dealer" is a welcome surprise. It combines visually arresting science fiction done on a budget with a strong sense of social commentary in a way that few films attempt, let alone achieve.
