È un filmaker di Helsinki. Ha studiato al Center of Advanced Film and Television Studies of the American Film Institute di Los Angeles e al Media Arts Department of Sheridan College di Toronto. Si è laureato alla Faculty of Art, Design and Film of Harrow College of Higher Education di Londra, nel 1988.
